We spent last evening improving our language skills, with the help of a crisp packet! This multi-lingual packaging proved to be most useful. We were able to work out which shapes equalled which of our letters; if we could remember even some of them, it might help us find our way?
Our totally secluded spot and the hot weather meant that we could wash outside today, rather than in Fay's very bijou bathroom.
Aided by the crisp packet, we set off on what we know is the right road. We stop at a village store to get more bottles of water and some bread. Once she had got over her shock at having aliens in her shop, the shop keeper was friendly. We had clearly become over confident! Our "right" road, came to dead end and became a cycle path! Having asked a number of locals the way, the consensus of sign language was that we should go back to the motorway we had left last night!
The motorway was relatively easy and by the time we reached Plovdiv it was already 4pm. It didn't take much to persuade ourselves that there would be plenty of Roman ruins in Greece and Turkey and since this motorway lead right to the boarder, we would stay on it.
By now the temperature is 36 degrees. The road lead into a town and there was the first campsite we had seen since entering Bulgaria and it had a swimming pool and wifi! Although we wanted to catch up with family at home, the pool took preference.
We met an Aussie couple doing a similar trip to us but in reverse. They had flown to London, bought a van and set of to explore Europe. After hearing the problems they were having with their fridge, we were glad we had spent out on a new one for Fay. They didn't have a loo on board, so were more dependant on finding campsites, good luck with that.
Having made calls to home and caught up with emails, we know all is well and I get chance to read the inspection report. The girls did so well, I am really proud of them.
