Lazy days at Camping Ant

Tues 23rd Sept

Today sees our return to the ant camping site we left just over three weeks ago, was it really only that long? The ferry from Istanbul to Bandirma left at 7am, so it meant an early start and in torrential rain, we were soaked to the skin when we boarded the ferry. Good job we are not still in Pakistan; this impromptu "wet T Shirt competition" might not have been seen as quite proper! The two hour trip was dozed away then it was an easy bus ride from Bandirma to our site near Erdek.

On arrival dear Ahmed was pleased to see us. Fay had obviously had a relaxing time time without us and was in safe hands. Ahmed is a treasure. Arriving back at Camping Ant is like coming home.

A shower, a cream cracker and back to sleep! Later we wander to the shop for a few essentials then back to bed by 7.30pm! Maybe we are not quite as young as we like to think we are?

Wed 24th Sept

A very lazy day, we do get the laundry done and Richard does a bit of snorkelling apart from that we just rest. It will be a novelty to want to eat, currently peach juice is all I want.
Thurs 25th sept

Either Fay was over excited at seeing us or bored of being in one place, I'm not sure which but her leisure battery has gone flat and the relay to stop pull from the engine battery failed!

We get a jump start from some German campers and summon the energy to go into Erdek town for spares and a bit of shopping. Having used so much anti bacterial body wash, hand sanitisers and alcohol gel over the last few weeks, our skin is like crepe paper and I seem to be wearing my Grandmother's hands? I add a bottle of moisturiser to the shopping trolley. On applying this silky liquid, the words creosote and old fence come to mind!

By now I think we are possibly at our ideal weights but with no scales we cannot mark this momentous occasion! Richard's tight trousers are now loose and I have had to tape my wedding ring to stop it falling off!

Fri 26th Sept

Signs of improvement today. We both enjoy a boiled egg for breakfast. I still can't face a cup of tea though??

We make the decision to move on tomorrow and invite Ahmet to eat with us this evening. Having a guest might encourage us to eat? Ant camping has been like home. Ahmet could not be a better host and if anyone is in this area, we would thoroughly recommend stopping here a while.
